This environment was crucial because a person is the average of the five people they spend the most time with. It is essential to attend a good college to build a strong network and peer group that can inspire you to chase big dreams.
Jaipur, 15 July : I was an average student in school, and after my class 12 exams, it took me an extra year to gain admission to IIT Delhi. Even at IIT, I was still an average student, but I was surrounded by people with big dreams. This environment was crucial because a person is the average of the five people they spend the most time with. It is essential to attend a good college to build a strong network and peer group that can inspire you to chase big dreams.I worked extremely hard on whatever I undertook, and this dedication has led to my current success. Hard work is my superpower. While others might have worked on something for 8 hours, I would dedicate 18 hours to it. Persistent hard work is the only path to success. These insights were shared by CEO and Co-Founder of CarDekho Group, Amit Jain today at St. Xavier’s School in Jaipur. He was speaking at an interactive session on the topic, 'Accelerating Entrepreneurial Journeys' organized by the Xavier's Alumni of Jaipur to mark the beginning of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the Alumni of the school.
Talking about his entrepreneurial journey, Jain said that there is no age for entrepreneurship. If you are able to make an experience better by 4 points on a scale of 10 then you will be able to create a successful startup. He said that now the startup ecosystem is such that there is easy access to funding and one only needs a laptop and an idea to create a startup.
Giving a word of advice to the school children, Jain said that the screen time and time spent on social media should be reduced. Instead one should spend their free time in reading, playing a sport etc. Strive to make yourself 1% better each day than you were yesterday, he added. Later there was a Q&A round with the students.
Earlier Event Coordinator of Xavier's Platinum Jubilee Committee, Mahavir Sharma said that his session is the beginning of the Platinum Jubilee celebration of the Alumni of St. Xavier’s School, which will continue till 26 December, 2025. During the celebrations, Xavier's Alumni will organise a session every month, which will include knowledge sessions, mentoring sessions, peer to peer meetings, fundraising activities and keynote addresses.
Also present on this occasion was Chairman of Xavier's Platinum Jubilee Committee, Anup Sah and other committee members.
